Arundel Care’s management team has over 30 years extensive experience of providing both health and social care services to people with learning disabilities. All of the management team have considerable experience working and managing services for individuals with Learning Disabilities, those on the Autistic Spectrum and individuals presenting challenging behaviour.
This includes front-line support as support workers, managers of residential homes, area managers for clusters of services and more senior management roles. Qualifications of management staff include, RNMH, Diploma in Management, NVQ level 5, NVQ Level 4, Leadership and Management in Care, MSC Intervention and Analysis in Learning Disabilities (Tizard) and Diploma in Applied Psychology of Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour (Tizard).
Joe has worked in Learning Disability Services since the early 1970’s. This was predominantly working in NHS long-stay institutions and this is where he completed his RNMH. He is also a ‘Nurse Behavioural Therapist’ who worked in NHS services specific for those with Challenging Behaviour at the time using ‘Behaviour Modification’ techniques. Joe left the NHS in the early 1990’s when the long-stay hospitals begun to close and individuals were being re-settled into community based transition. He Managed two companies from 1991-2002 which opened in the region of 20 residential homes, all for people with a Learning Disability as well as those that presented with complex and severe challenging behaviour.
Joe took some time out between 2002-2005 then in 2005 opened Arundel Care Services followed by Arundel Domiciliary Care Services in 2008. Joe has overall responsibility for the management of the organisation.
Kay has operational responsibility for Sussex based services, providing support to the Managers and Team Leaders and staff. Kay delivers many of the in-house training courses to staff teams and is the lead individual for Safeguarding procedures within the organisation. Kay alongside Sarah manages all referrals of individuals for placements, undertaking detailed assessments of needs and support required.
Behaviour Support Manager
Sarah joined Arundel Care in 2009. Her role is to provide behaviour support to services supporting individuals whose behaviours can be challenging, through assessment, training, direct work and advice. Sarah works both directly with individuals and also with staff teams to identify the reasons why someone may use certain behaviours and then to find alternative strategies to manage them. Sarah delivers specialist training to staff in autism, positive behaviour support, active support and intensive interaction. Sarah alongside Kay manages all referrals of individuals for placements, undertaking detailed assessments of needs and support required.
Maureen has operational responsibility for our Surrey based services, providing support to the Team Leaders and staff. Maureen alongside other members of the management team provides in-house training across the organisation.
